BDR is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our growing team! This position will be performed as a hybrid role with three (3) days on-site in Washington, D.C. This position requires US Citizenship with an Active Top Secret Clearance and SCI Eligibility. (Military Veterans and HUBZone candidates are highly encouraged to apply) Role Overview The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for maintaining computer networks and systems including LAN/WAN, Remote Access, VPN, routers, switches, and other hardware. Additionally, they will be working with the Fortinet Suite to ensure security protocols are compliant and meet the customers' needs. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Use of Fortinet suite (Fortigate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager) as well as managing and maintaining F5 load balancers. Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and other vulnerabilities. Configure and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Develop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network requirements for various projects and initiatives. Perform network capacity planning and optimization to meet future business needs. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in network technologies and best practices. Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users. Communicate project status, challenges, and successes to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner. Required Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or related field, such as Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience. 15+ years of using Fortinet suite (Fortigate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager) as well as managing and maintaining F5 load balancers. Experience in network engineering LAN/WAN. Experience with routing protocols. In addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.
