LanceSoft is seeking a local contract Substance Use Counselor for a local contract job in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Position Type: Full-time, Direct-hire, On-site Openings: 15+
Title: Substance Abuse Therapist / Licensed Therapist

Location: Tennessee, Virginia

 

Purpose:

The therapist provides counselling services within state and federal regulations, ensuring patient care meets standards. They foster a safe, supportive environment for recovery, addressing both mental health and substance use disorders.

Duties:

• Work within a multidisciplinary treatment team
• Conduct assessments, individual counselling, and treatment planning
• Provide opioid use disorder therapy and crisis intervention
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Stay informed on local drug trends, addiction treatment, and behavioural health strategies

Requirements:

• Education: MSW, LMSW (TN only), LSW (VA only), LMFT (TN only), or LPC (TN only)
• Experience: Working with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
• Certifications: CPR & First Aid required
• Special Requirements: Maintain state trainee/intern status, follow NAADAC Code of Ethics

Work Conditions:

• Must be physically and emotionally stable, able to assist patients when needed
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and contagious diseases, requiring Universal Precautions
• Regular supervision and competency evaluations

This role is available in multiple locations across Virginia (VA) and Tennessee (TN). Pay will vary based on experience.
