DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Administration team, performs professional, journalistic, and community relations work for marketing, public relations, and advertising through a variety of communication platforms.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Researches, prepares, and coordinates graphics and the writing of information materials for inclusion in media (television, radio, newspaper, and social media) and creates brochures, pamphlets, bulletins, newsletters, and audio-visual presentations to communicate information about the library system to its constituents.
- Coordinates volunteer program by recruiting volunteers, creating volunteer position descriptions, processing volunteer applicants, providing basic training, tracking volunteer hours, evaluating volunteer performance, and recognizing volunteers for their service.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of communications efforts.
- Creates effective public relations/communication strategies, goals, and objectives for the library.
- Assists in locating public and private grants for public libraries and participate in the application process under the direction of the Administration team as required.
- Maintains working knowledge of contemporary issues, trends, and technology in the library profession and communications.
- Prepares speeches and help maintain the identity and reputation of the library or representatives.
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES MIGHT INCLUDE: - Develop weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual medial activity reports
- Plan, create, and oversee the design, content, and production of marketing materials
- Coordinate external and internal communication workflow
- Build long-term relationship with influencers and key stakeholder
- Collaborate with marketing team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: BA/BS in Communications

Experience: Two (2) years to include computer, organizational, journalism, communications, social media and writing skills.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Skilled in the use of social media platforms, desktop publishing, graphics, video software and audio -visual equipment

- Analytical mind with attention to details
- Skills in setting up displays is preferred.
