Job Exempt Full Time / Part Time: Full time Employment Condition: Unclassified - Unlimited Academic Salary Range: $44,144.00 - $96,906.00 Job Description Dakota County Technical College seeks an unlimited, full-time Dental Assistant Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. Find out more about the program here: Responsibilities: Teach Dental Assistant curriculum, including lecture, labs. Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to: instructional planning, curriculum development, student evaluation and records, classroom/climate preparation and management, interpersonal relations, promote safety in all aspects of program activities, participate in professional development experiences, work as an effective team member of the department, maintenance of professional skills and credentials, and participate on college. Assignment will start on August 20, 2025. Salary Range: $44,144.00 - 96,906.00 Annually (Based upon 1.0 FTE of 32 credits per years. Pay will be prorated, based upon credit load). Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2024 - 2025 MSCF Contract ( , and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office. Minimum Qualifications Education Requirement Bachelor degree and graduate of an accredited dental assisting program. Occupational Experience Requirement Three full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a dental assistant. Recency Requirement One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Professional Requirement Dental Assistant certification by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Current Dental Assistant License from the Minnesota Board of Dentistry. Preferred Qualification Higher education teaching experience with diverse student populations Experience with learning communities or team teaching Experience in curriculum development Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including web enhanced and online instruction Experience developing and using student centered, active and experiential learning strategies Experience integrating cross cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus wide and classroom learning outcomes Experience with accelerated adult learning Work Shift (Hours / Days of work) Variable; Monday - Friday; some evening hours.
